We build value, beauty and function ... every time!

Our Process

Stout Homes & Remodeling follows a finely-tuned process that we’ve spent the past 20 years perfecting in order to ensure the successful build and delivery of your project. Throughout this process, we are dedicated to keeping the lines of communication open with our clients and subcontractors.

"As a business owner for more than two decades, I have realized that each project we do ends up having its own ‘personality’ -- it’s a fusion of the customer’s vision for the project, our input as builders with years of experience and the way each professional involved with the project puts their personal touch on the build. It’s hard work, but it’s fun and at the end we’ve given our client something beautiful to enjoy for years to come.” - Craig Bruggeman, President

Initial On-Site Meeting
(1-2 hours)

Stout Homes & Remodeling meets with you to gain an understanding of what you are trying to achieve and your expected project budget. We identify the scope of the project, take measurements, offer insights and ideas and propose methods that can potentially save you money or hassle during the construction process. In addition, we can evaluate your plan to explain what can and cannot be realistically accomplished based on your projected budget.

Estimating

We provide detailed and accurate estimates which allows for realistic expectations for our clients. Stout Homes & Remodeling performs a thorough analysis of the proposed project. We assess the design, materials, subcontractors needed, permitting requirements and create a detailed estimate outlining all cost items including labor, equipment, materials, permits, etc. We have extensive experience understanding the FEMA 50% improvement rule and Florida Building Code for Substantial Improvement.

Proposal Review Meeting
(2 hours)

Once the estimate has been created, we will meet with you to review the estimate and explain in detail what will be done from start to finish as well as answer your questions. Material selection is typically discussed after this meeting; those selections can influence the project’s final pricing. Once we have reviewed the proposal with you, we will present to you the contract and deposit requirements. A projected time frame for completion of the project will be outlined in your contract.

Design/Permitting

Upon receipt of your deposit and signed contract, Stout Homes & Remodeling will immediately begin the design process, followed by permitting. A Notice of Commencement may need to be signed by you as the owner of your property.

Other documents, forms and information may be required at this time.

Commencement of Work

Once the permit has been released, Stout Homes & Remodeling will schedule the necessary subcontractors and get started. Communication and transparency are important to us, so we’ll make sure to keep you in the loop throughout the process to ensure that you understand what to expect as the build progresses.

We want to meet you, see your project and understand your needs.
